Behind the name. “Philo” originates from the maternal lineage of owner and principal designer, Emily Lipari. The name has been passed down as an heirloom title for generations. Along with its Greek etymology, “philo” embraces the love of beautiful belongings. As an avid lover of classic interior design, it was destined Emily name her firm Philo Interiors.

Emily grew up surrounded by tradespeople and projects throughout her childhood. With the hopeful dream of having her own firm, she attended college as a marketing major to learn the fundamentals of business, whereupon graduating she began her experience in cabinetry design before working in the luxury interiors industry. Within a year, she was promoted from a junior designer to senior designer before deciding to start her own firm and has been working in the industry for over six years. Supported by her team of four employees and continuing to grow, Emily collaborates one-on-one with her clients as she’s personally involved in all project decisions and helps blend her clients’ ideas with her own.
